The Business of Design is a book published by Cengage Learning (formally Delmar Thomson). BoD teaches introductory business topics to designers and design students. It has been adopted by a number of university programs in the US and Canada and is available as a trade paperback or Amazon Kindle edition.
The print edition of The Business of Design includes a DVD of interviews I conducted in New York, San Francisco, Reno and Charlotte with principals of leading creative agencies and in-house creative departments, including Ralph Lauren, Method, and Publicis Riney.
The Business of Design was my second book, following Flash MX: Rich Media for the Web (Out of Print, Pearson Prentice Hall, 2002). Flash MX: Rich Media was used in university design and digital media programs. The book sold over 5000 copies were sold in 7 countries.
